MOMs (Home) > Fitness > Cut Down on your Calories Try to Cut Down on Your CaloriesHoliday is the time when you tend to increase the weights. This is because you are stress free. You want to pamper yourself with a lot of rest and good sleep. Also you want to serve your tongue twisters with the goodies like chocolates, pies and cookies...and all the other Christmas specials. You also party a lot. So you tend to increase your weight. But it is too hard to get back to normal shape once you have gained. So it is important to consider Christmas time as time to take care of yourself and thus cutting down on your calories. Firstly, you must start drinking gallons of water. After every thirty minutes, you must drink a glass of water. This will control your hunger to some extent and thus, you can avoid many stuffs. Tasting itself makes you intake many calories. So while you are preparing cookies, you must involve some one else for tasting it. When you are at home on a holiday and nothing to do you tend to fill up the plate with the foods that are mostly high in calories. Rather than this you must have veggies and salads. This will also keep you healthy and will lower the calorie intake. After you have had your meal and feel satisfied but tempted, restrict the temptation. This is because you will actually come to know after 30 minutes that how full you are. So just wait and do not go for the second plate, let it be too tempting. Use a smaller plate. You are going to fill up your plate, no doubt about it. So use a smaller plate. Instead of using the big plates get a smaller one. Less food means low calories and also you will have the mental satisfaction that you had a full plate. Alcohol has a good amount of calories. Have a watch on it in a party.
